In the foreseeable future, you will be able to customize the role-playing epic even more extensively with mods than before – even on consoles

After a few runs through the campaign of Baldur’s Gate 3 at the latest, many hardcore fans will be looking for mods to spice up the familiar gameplay with new content and make it more interesting again.

There are already over 5,000 mods on the platform alone Nexusmods So that you don’t get lost searching through this huge pile, we have already picked out the best mods for you

In the future, the whole procedure will probably be much easier anyway. Larian has now confirmed that official mod support for Baldur’s Gate 3 is coming – also for consoles

Release still a few months away

The official confirmation was made in the background noise of the recently released Hotfix 19. Michael Douse, Director of Publishing at Larian, promises a robust, cross-platform capable mod support. Regarding the release, he only says later this year

Exact information on How is not yet known. According to Douse, they have a system, but it still needs to be tested and further work needs to be done on it.

Many BG3 modders probably wish that official patches and hotfixes would no longer constantly render mods unusable due to changes to the game’s code base. Only recently, Hotfix 18 prevented the substructure required for many mods Baldur’s Gate 3 Script Extender from working.

On the official Discord of Baldur’s Gate 3, Senior Community Strategist WombatMedic has already announcedthat official mod support will come with the next major patch, which is still a few months away.

One thing is certain: As soon as Baldur’s Gate 3 officially supports mods and offers them a platform, the 5,000 copies mentioned at the beginning will not last much longer – in fact, this number is likely to multiply within a very short time.
