On Steam, the developer of the unusual building game announces the release date and a free demo

Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles  already attracted some attention with its unusual scenario and novel building mechanics when it was announced in March 2022. Now, the release of the construction game is finally within reach: As announced on (Steam)  Bulwark will be released on March 26, 2024

Free demo in January

The game will be available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 at release. Just under two months before the release, on January 30, 2024 at 13:00, a free demo for all platforms will also be released.

This includes a separate scenario designed to teach you the basics of Bulwark. Your settlements are limited to 15 buildings, and gameplay elements such as wonders, leaders and different factions are not available.

What is Bulwark anyway?

The building game comes from the same solo developer as the air combat game (The Falconeer), and is also set in its world. Here you build impressive cities and fortresses on the rocky cliffs of a barren island landscape. You can see the foundation of such a settlement in our gameplay video:

The unique construction system stands out in particular: All buildings on an island are connected to each other via walkways or walls. In addition to production buildings, you first build individual towers on which you can add more and more floors and to which platforms with further buildings are connected.

Depending on the ground, surrounding buildings and height, the buildings change their appearance with each expansion. So every city looks unique. In the course of the game, you will colonize new islands, build up a fleet of boats and airships, and can also wage war against other factions.

Several promising construction games have already been announced for 2024: In addition to Bulwark, the authentic medieval Manor Lords, the pretty castle-building game Tiny Glade, the sequel to the building hit Frostpunk and Laysara: Summit Kingdom, set in the Himalayas, will also be released.
