When will the first trailer for Joker 2 be released?
The first trailer for Joker 2 will be released on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 – an exact time is currently unknown. On this date, we should finally get a proper impression of Folie à Deux, which is still the subject of many unanswered questions
What’s Joker 2 about? All we know so far, for example, is that Joker and Harley Quinn meet in Arkham Asylum. You know, the heavily guarded psychiatric ward where Batman regularly keeps his worst adversaries. The sequel is said to rely heavily on musical elements, but there is some debate as to whether Joker 2 should really be seen as a pure musical
Musical or not a musical after all? According to a report by Variety we can expect at least 15 new interpretations of well-known songs in Folie a Deux – one of which is That’s Entertainment from the 1953 musical The Band Wagon. Oscar-winning composer Hildur Guðnadóttir is also back on board for Joker 2.
Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2, Atlanta) is set to return in her role as Sophie Dumond for the film sequel and Leigh Gill and Sharon Washington will also be returning. Meanwhile, new cast members include Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, Steve Coogan, Ken Leung and Harry Lawtey.
With a budget of 200 million US dollars Folie à Deux will be much more expensive than the first film, which only cost 70 million but grossed over a billion US dollars worldwide. Whether Joker 2 can match this groundbreaking success will only become clear on October 4, 2024.
