For years, Twitch has been the number one streaming site. However, these top 5 streamers are not (anymore) on the big livestreaming platform
Twitch has been the epicentre of streaming for years. Whether for gaming, chat conversations or anything in between, streamers have historically chosen Twitch for their livestreams. Competitors have come and gone. Microsoft’s Mixer platform in particular, with high buying power, was initially able to boast some big partners like Ninja and Shroud, before eventually fading back into irrelevance. However, this has opened the door for other platforms.
Dr Disrespect – Speed, Violence, Momentum (Youtube)
The 2019 Streamer of the Year was once at the top of Twitch and undoubtedly one of the platform’s most polarising FPS streamers. Known for his Call of Duty fame, he worked as a level designer and was integral in popularising the Battle Royale genre. On 26 June 2020, Dr Disrespect was suddenly and mysteriously banned from Twitch. At the same time, the reasons for the ban were not explained at any point and to this day it remains unclear why Dr Disrespect was banned from the platform.

Dr Disrespect did not simply disappear after his exclusion from Twitch, however, as his loyal following switched platforms with him to continue supporting him on YouTube. There, Dr Disrespect still achieves incredible viewer numbers and has been able to maintain his level of production. Without a doubt, this makes him one of the best “off switch” streamers on the World Wide Web.
Disguised Toast – Offline on Facebook
Offline TV’s most constant member Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang was also one of the leading Twitch streamers. Disguised Toast led the Hearthstone and Teamfight Tactics scenes, amassing impressive five-figure viewership numbers for both games. However, instead of mysteriously disappearing from the livestreaming platform, he was offered a massive deal by Facebook Gaming to switch platforms.
On it, Disguised Toast quickly rose to become Facebook’s top streamer. During his relatively short stay, he was already able to generate an audience of 1.5 million followers. Disguised Toast still streams regularly and a variety of games. In doing so, he has stated several times that he does not regret his move to Facebook.
LazarBeam – Code Iazar
Like many others before him, Lannan “LazorBeam” Eacott has made the switch from Twitch to YouTube. Best known for playing and commentating on Fortnite, he has been a top-notch content creator for years. Specifically, LazarBeam’s growth in Fortnite has been so successful that he’s had his own skin dedicated to him in the Icon Skin series.

The Australian streamer moved to YouTube in January 2020 along with content creator Elliot “Muselk” Watkins. Since then, he’s been able to take his success to Google’s platform and do incredible charity work alongside it. For example, during the Australian bushfire, he and other influencers raised over $300,000 for relief efforts. You can watch LazarBeam produce content and stream it on YouTube.
Doom49 – Facebook’s rising streamer
When searching for the best Facebook streamers, one will inevitably come across the name Doom49. And for good reason: Doom49 has been creating content since 2006 and now has 900,000 subscribers. The Canadian also began his streaming career on Twitch, but has been entertaining his fans mainly on Facebook for some time. There, he mainly played games of the FPS and Battle Royale genres.
Doom49 has thus been one of the most constant content creators for years and maintains his competitive edge as well as his humorous manner. Even though he is not one of the biggest names on the scene, he has found his place on a wide variety of platforms. Doom49 can be followed playing Escape From Tarkov, Rainbow Six and more games on his Facebook stream.
VanossGaming – More than just games
Evan “VanossGaming” Fong is a Canadian music producer, video game commentator and general internet personality. Since 2015, he has been known for his YouTube videos in games such as Garry’s Mod and Grand Theft Auto V. However, his reach goes far beyond that as his music career has also spread and profiled his stream. As a DJ, Vanoss performs under the name Rynx and has even worked as creative director for the game Dead Realm.
Vanoss has been loyal to YouTube for countless years and has worked primarily on this livestreaming platform since his gaming start. As the voice actor for YouTube’s own Paranormal Action Squad video series, Vanoss’ influence is unparalleled, at least in the streaming space.
