The official system requirements for Horizon Forbidden West for the PC are here and have been implemented in exemplary fashion
On March 21, the PlayStation hit Horizon Forbidden West will also be released for PC. To let you know whether your computer is well enough equipped for the action title, developers Guerilla Games and Nixxes Software have now announced the official system requirements
The requirements are the first highlight of the game, as they provide all the important information in an exemplary manner: From the targeted detail level to the resolution and frame rate to largely comprehensible hardware combinations, (almost) everything has been thought of here.
The following links will take you directly to the relevant information in the article:
- Requirements that apply to each level (RAM, data carrier and Windows)
- Minimum requirements (1280×720)
- Recommended requirements (1920×1080)
- High requirements (2560×1440 / 3840×2160)
- Very high requirements (3840×2160)
Small drawbacks are the lack of Intel’s Arc graphics cards and the amount of memory in the RTX 3060, which is available with 8.0 GB and 12.0 GB of VRAM. In addition, the GPUs mentioned are not always in exactly the same performance class. Overall, however, the system requirements seem well thought out

What else you need to know about Horizon Forbidden West
Release: The game will be released as a Complete Edition on March 21 on Steam and in the Epic Games Store. In addition to bonus content such as outfits, it also includes the Burning Shores story DLC. The title was first released on the PlayStation 4 and 5 on February 18, 2022, and the DLC was launched on April 19, 2023.
Upscaling: Sony has announced that the PC version of the game supports various upscaling variants to increase FPS that were not included in the system requirements above: Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR and Intel XeSS. Nvidia’s Frame Generation enables even more frames per second via AI-supported image calculation (only possible with RTX 4000 GPUs)
Ultra-Wide-Support: The developers have also thought about gamers with particularly wide monitors. From 21:9 to 32:9 and 48:9 aspect ratios, the game supports all corresponding formats.
