Thunder Tier One game

A tactical shooter that relies on a lot of realism and has a great feature with its bird’s eye view. We present: Thunder Tier One.

Thunder Tier One aims to show highly complex tactics in an unusual perspective.
Thunder Tier One aims to show highly complex tactics in an unusual perspective.

Various military tactics, realistic gameplay, tough-as-nails enemies: Thunder Tier One pushes a lot of buttons that must be all dusty by now for fans of the old SWAT and Rainbox Six! There is a new tactical shooter for single players with Door Kickers 2, but that caters more to special tastes.

Thunder Tier One also relies on a top-down perspective, but wants to create more dynamics with real-time tactics and deliver action with hard consequences. What we have seen so far makes a solid impression and is refreshingly different from the usual genre representatives. We introduce you to the new game from PUBG developer Krafton.

This is what Thunder Tier One is all about

The tactical shooter puts us in the combat suits of a special unit that conducts risky missions against terrorists all over the world. In the Story Campaignwe play through ten missions that include different tasks. We can play the missions alone and, very importantly, command AI colleagues with orders – SWAT says hello!

However, Thunder Tier One is designed for 4-player co-op So we are supposed to coordinate with our friends (or random teammates), advance undercover together, take out terrorists and so on.

In addition, Thunder Tier One offers a PvP mode in which two teams of five players fight each other on the maps. Here, too, they use military tactics such as reconnaissance drones, door-slit cameras and gadgets like grenades or claymore mines to achieve the mission objectives.

Despite the unusual bird’s-eye view, Thunder Tier One looks atmospheric and high-quality thanks to Unreal Engine 4 The lighting in particular sets the scene atmospherically, as the pictures also show:

The following developer video also shows how important communication and the use of different tactics is:

Suitable for whom?

Sherlock concludes: Thunder Tier One is worth a look especially for fans of a tactical gaming experience. Those who like to command their team in SWAT 4, sneak through levels in Rainbow Six: Vegas or constantly kick down doors in Door Kickers will probably find Thunder Tier One interesting.

Conveniently, the tactical shooter not only wants to offer the sorely missed Spec Ops experience for single players, but also really comes into its own in co-op with friends. And PvP lovers should also get their money’s worth.

The tactical shooter YouTuber Karmakut is already very enthusiastic about the PvP mode in Thunder Tier One:

What can we expect from Thunder Tier One?

The brains behind Thunder Tier One is Pawel Smolewski from Krafton. In a Blogpost he describes the game as a heart project for which he had the idea when he worked at Arma developer Bohemia Interactive.

An exact release date is missing so far. On Steam it is only stated that the release date has yet to be set. However, Thunder Tier One has already held test phases with influencers and fans, which indicates an advanced stage of development.
