Is Titanfall 3 coming or not? Conflicting statements from the developers are causing confusion right now. We explain what’s behind the debate.
The Titanfall community just can’t catch a break. After recently broken servers and hacker attacks caused chaos, there are now heated discussions about the future of the series. More precisely, whether we can even hope for Titanfall 3. The developers themselves don’t seem to be in complete agreement.
The impetus for the debate
The trigger for the current storm was developer Respawn’s Community Coordinator, Jason Garza. In the livestream, he was asked by a viewer for an update on the Titanfall series. His answer stifled all hopes for the time being:
There’s nothing. It’s a game with a lot of mechs. An old one. (…) Don’t get your hopes up, man. I’ve said it before, we just don’t have anything in the works. There is nothing. Too many other games currently in the works.
Many fans of the series reacted to this with concern and anger, some felt the expression “with many mechs” was inappropriate – after all, they are actually called Titans and are already in the title of the game. In the comments, Garza apologised for this: he loves Titanfall, but he was just frustrated that he couldn’t talk about what happens behind the scenes.
Studio responds with contradiction
Shortly after, Respawn’s official Twitter channel came forward with a very different announcement, apparently with the intention of calming down upset fans. There is no explanation for the contradiction:

However, this rather vague announcement is once again reaping some headwind. But this has even deeper reasons than the disappointment that Titanfall 3 will only be an issue in the distant future at best. Parts of the community feel neglected by Respawn because there are massive, unresolved problems with Titanfall and Titanfall 2.
The State of Titanfall.
We recently reported in a separate article that Titanfall and often the newer Titanfall 2 are unplayable because a hacker keeps causing server downtime with DDOS attacks. On Steam, players complain that they have paid but are virtually unable to play Titanfall. Recently, the situation seems to be improving, but whether it will last this time remains unclear.
