Further story details

The anime is said to connect the newer “Survivor Trilogy” and the “Legend Trilogy” that came before it. Tomb Raider, the 2013 reboot, features Lara Croft’s beginnings as an archaeologist, while in older games she is already a seasoned treasure hunter.

The character Jonah Maiava, for example, comes from the reboot. Tech expert Zip, on the other hand, last stood by Lara Croft’s side in Tomb Raider: Underworld (2009).

If you want to travel even further back in Lara Croft’s video game history, you can do so in early 2024 with the Remastered Collection of Tomb Raider 1 to 3.

Netflix has already launched several successful anime adaptations of video games with Castlevania or Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and wants to continue this course. What do you think about reinterpreting games in the form of anime? Will you be watching The Legend of Lara Croft? Feel free to post your thoughts in the comments.
