Warhammer 3: Important info on Thrones of Decay

Release: The release is still planned for the spring of 2024 there is no exact date yet.

Platforms and price: As with the previous expansions, Thrones of Decay will be available for purchase on Steam, the Epic Games Store or the Microsoft Store.

The previous DLC, Shadows of Change, was met with a lot of criticism from the community: too little new content for too high a price. Creative Assembly increased the content and announced that it would handle future expansions differently

One of the first changes in Thrones of Decay is the option to buy the three legendary commanders individually or as a bundle. In a community message the developers revealed the exact pricing:

  • The complete DLC will cost 23 Euro at release. This includes an “introductory discount”.
  • Each of the three commanders can be purchased as a pack for 9 Euro each.
  • On Steam there is a discount of 15 percent  on each of the other two packs if you only buy one commander initially.

Maurice has dealt with the problems of the Total War series in detail in the following video:

The three commanders have special traits not only for battle, but also for the campaign. In addition, each adds special new units to their race:

    Elspeth of Draken (Imperium)
    Tamurkhan, Lord of Maggots (Nurgle)
    Malakai Makaisson (Dwarves)

Patch 5.0 released with free content

The next major patch 5.0 will also be released alongside the DLC. This includes a previously unknown legendary commander, a new hero and a new campaign feature called Nemesis Crown

So there is a lot of new content in the latest DLC for Total War: Warhammer 3. What do you think of the three new legendary commanders?
