Neo Berlin 2087 focuses on atmosphere. Also in the trailer show: Berlin techno bouncers and Frankfurt murder suspects

In this week’s edition of our trailer show, we came across three German games that are attracting attention with stylish videos. These include Neo Berlin 2087, which raises certain expectations with its cyberpunk setting, role-playing elements and modern graphics

Also included: A bouncer game in the Berlin techno scene and historical detective stories in 1950s Frankfurt. Have fun with our trailers of the week!

Place 3: The Darkest Files

The German indie studio Paintbucket Games caused an international stir with the anti-fascist strategy game Through the Darkest of Times . Now the team is looking for support for a new project on Kickstarter.

In The Darkest Files you solve historical murder cases that actually took place in Frankfurt in the 1950s. So you interrogate witnesses and suspects, analyze memories and documents and build a case in court. The trailer shows some of this, which also creates an exciting atmosphere thanks to the artistic style

Place 2: Neo Berlin 2087

Neo Berlin 2087 pushes many a cyberpunk button and looks really chic thanks to Unreal Engine 5. You play as police officer Nolan, who is tasked with solving the murder of the police chief and rescuing his kidnapped daughter.

A new wall has been erected in cyberpunk-era Berlin, but instead of dividing the city, it seals it off. Beneath the neon-lit façade, there is a deep rift between the social classes, crime is omnipresent and technological achievements dominate the cityscape.

Place 1: Techno Banter

Also neon-drenched, but with a much narrower focus: In Techno Banter you play a bouncer in an imaginatively dark pixel-Berlin. And that’s something to behold in the trailer. You talk to people, mythical creatures and monsters who all want to party in the techno club whose door you are responsible for

Using a dialog-based combat system, you decide who gets in and who doesn’t. As the developer explains in the atmospheric trailer, you play a role in deciding how well or badly the party develops.

What do you think of this week’s videos in the trailer show? Are you curious to see how Neo Berlin 2087 will fare against Cyberpunk 2077? Does the job as security in front of a wacky techno club pique your interest? What do you expect from the German developer landscape as a whole? Let us know your views in the comments!
