The strategy game is now also available on Steam with new DLC, and patch 1.6 even adds new content for all players.

Since 2 September 2021, Troy: A Total War Saga is also available on Steam, after being exclusive to the Epic Store for a year. On the same day, the new Mythos DLC will also be released, which integrates ancient creatures and could thus finally unleash previously untapped potential.

But even players who do not buy the new additional content will not go empty-handed. Just in time for the Steam release of the main game and DLC, Patch 1.6.0 will also be released, and it has free content for everyone.

Troy becomes more historically accurate on demand

Developer Creative Assembly is aptly calling the new content “FLC”, or “Free-loadable Content”. And for a free patch, the new features are quite impressive. We have summarised the highlights for you below:

– Achievements: Troy: A Total War Saga now has Achievements. By the way, this also applies to the version from the Epic Store.

– Historical Mode: With the new Mythos DLC, all kinds of creatures find their way into the game, but at the same time you can now also approach the campaign and battles more realistically than ever. The historical mode removes all mythological elements – from creatures to units to usable abilities. Lighting and colour palette are supposed to be more natural than in the normal mode. The developers have published more details for you in a separate blog entry.

If you wish, you can now also play in a much more realistic setting.

The new value for administrative load has advantages but also disadvantages.

Besides these highlights, there are of course a whole bunch of bug fixes and balancing changes. You can find the complete patch notes (here)
