The most important changes

  • Some maps have been expanded to include additional save points.
  • If your Atlas does not show any available maps, you can now reset it using the chat command /ResetAtlas
  • Various changes have been made to improve controller control.
  • You can now change the names of your characters.

But there are also some things to report on the fixes page:

  • You can no longer protect yourself from Zarokh’s attacks by hiding in the corners of the arena.
  • Fixed a bug where some quest items would not spawn.
  • Fixed several bugs in couch co-op.
  • Fixed multiple crashers. This includes a potential fix for the issues with the Windows version 24H2.

Patch Notes

This patch adds resurrection support for more endgame content and support for renaming characters via the website, as well as other improvements and bug fixes.

Improvements and changes

  • Added up to five resurrection attempts for the Twisted Domain area based on the difficulty of the area. If you complete the Breach Domain area but die during the Xesht, We Who Are One boss fight, you will be resurrected at the boss arena entrance. If you die before completing the Breach Domain area, you will be resurrected at the beginning of the area. Repeated attempts of the area will result in you not receiving experience from monsters.
  • Added up to five resurrection attempts for the Olroth, Source of the Fall boss fight based on combat difficulty.
  • Added up to five resurrection attempts for the Core of Nothingness area based on the area difficulty. If you die before killing the King of the Mists, you will be resurrected in the boss arena and the fight will start over.
  • Revivals can only be triggered by the person who used the expedition log, the breakthrough stone, or an audience with the king, and all members of your group will be revived at the same time.
  • More checkpoints have been added to several map areas and the placement of some checkpoints has been improved.
  • Added the /ResetAtlas chat command, which can only be used to reset your Atlas if it is in a bricked state (no available maps).
  • Added minimap icons for Vaults.
  • Mini-map icons for league mechanics now stay visible no matter how far you move away from them, making it easier to return to them later.
  • Hitting inanimate objects such as ice crystals, storm bells, or climbing arrow plants can no longer cause your trigger abilities to generate energy.
  • Vines of the Vineshot type no longer take damage from being struck, and thus no longer trigger on being struck, and similar values.
  • Minions can now briefly squeeze through smaller gaps if they have not moved for a short time.
  • Channelled skills that have their cost change with attack/cast speed modifiers now explicitly state this.
  • Unused skill and character menus no longer display.
  • The Stun Threshold tooltip now includes more information about the stun mechanic.
  • Added customizable settings for target behavior when using a controller. These can be viewed and selected in the Bind Skills menu.
  • Added charms to the controller HUD.
  • Added a setting to display advanced item information when examining items with a controller.
  • Added dedicated controller hotkeys for confirming selections in various UI when using a controller, such as opening a map in the map device or starting an examination at the relic altar.
  • Increased the font size of text in various places when using a controller.
  • Improved item navigation when using a controller.
  • Improved targeting behavior for ranged attacks when using a controller.
  • Improved targeting behavior for sacrifice skills when using a controller.
  • Additional changes have been made to reduce aggressive targeting of the Storm Bell while using a controller.
  • The change made in patch 0.1.1 that allowed items to be picked up and interaction with some objects while performing other actions has been reversed due to the problems it caused.
  • You can now change the name of your Path of Exile 2 characters or swap the names of two of your characters. You can access it on the website via the “My Account” page after the patch is deployed.
  • The following existing cosmetic microtransactions have been enabled for use in Path of Exile 2: Exile’s Pilfering Ring, Exile’s Pedometer Ring, Evertree Map Devices, Timekeeper’s Map Devices, Peddler’s Rain Hideout Decorations, Octoparasite Pets.
  • Continued to make incremental improvements to the sound, graphics, effects, and environments.

Bug fixes

Fixed a bug that could cause you to lose access to the map device when moving from a self-created solo league.
    • Fixed a bug that allowed Zarokh, the Temporal, to continue using his Spinning Lightning ability after dying or being heavily stunned.
    • Fixed a bug where Zarokh, the Temporal, could not hit victims hiding in the corners of the arena with his Spinning Lightning ability.

    • Fixed a bug where Elemental Explosions from rare monster minions could fail to display their telegrapher on death if the corpse was destroyed on hit, such as by smashing the monster.
    • Fixed a bug where the passive ability “Twin Threats Atlas” could sometimes duplicate monsters incorrectly, resulting in monsters not being damaged.
    • Fixed a bug that caused kills with damage over time to not be correctly assigned to players, especially in the case of deaths from poison or bleeding while the monster still had an energy shield at the time of death.
    • Fixed a bug that allowed the unique quarterstaff “Collapsing Horizon” to track increases in elemental skill levels.
    • Fixed a bug that could cause parts of the atlas to not render if they were far from your last map.

    • Fixed a bug that caused Black Strider’s net grenades to be unblockable and unavoidable by dodging.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the frequency and duration values of Withering Presence to display at double the actual values in the skill information panel while the skill was active.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the passive skill Crystalline Potential Gemling Legionnaire Ascendancy to cause unequipped ammo to be reset to 0 when entering a new area.
    • Fixed an issue in couch co-op where a player could interact with the map device, but could not open a map because they were not the party leader. In couch co-op, the map owners are now made the party leader.
    • Fixed various couch co-op bugs where player 2 would open elements of player 1’s UI, such as the endgame map.
    • Fixed a bug in couch co-op where player 2 could not fast travel between checkpoints.
    • Fixed an issue where you could not see the benefits of “Quality on Gems” when using a controller.
