Valheim developer Iron Gate shows off new images of Hearth and Home and promises release is still on track.
Gamers of Valheim are already waiting impatiently for the new update Hearth and Home, which brings the first content after the Early Access release. The patch is scheduled to be released in the third quarter of the year, i.e. by September 2021. This was announced by the developers on Steam, where they reported back from their summer holiday.
In addition to the release promise, Iron Gate Studios also showed two new images of Hearth and Home, which revolves around gold coins. Up until now, the currency has been gathering dust in player crates because the use for it at the veteran merchant Haldir has long since been exhausted.
In future, you will at least be able to sort the surplus coins into “nice piles” and “not-so-nice piles”. You’ll also get an iron grate with a door to build your own treasure chamber in the Viking castle.
What else is in Hearth and Home?
The Valheim update Hearth and Home is all about home and hearth, new features around base building, food preparation and farming. Among them are these new contents:
– New Building Parts: Darkwood Roofs and Window Hatches
– Cooking Station Enhancements: Spice Rack, Meat Table, and Pots and Pans
– New Food Items: Over ten recipes in total, including “Eyescream”, “Shocklate Smoothie” and various wolf meats.
– More Agriculture: Plantable Onions.
– Decorative objects: Including the newly shown gold stacks and new furniture
.
The many players brought new bugs to light, which were given higher priority by the developers than new content. As a result, the content has been delayed.
However, it is hoped that the development speed will still increase, as new employees are gradually being hired to strengthen the team, which originally had only five members.
