Valheim players have wanted something like this for a long time. Especially the way Iron Gate integrates the feature would have made Odin proud.
The patch notes of Valheim: Hearth and Home are full of innovations that were not announced before. For example, Loxe for riding! But also a feature that players have been asking for for a long time is now present in the Viking survival game.
Because we don’t want to spoil anything here, we’ll give you the opportunity to make a Viking-like escape before we get down to business. So don’t read any further if you want to find the new item yourself.
Do you just want to know where to find it? Then at least read the next paragraph.
This is how you get on the trail
You’re still here? By the Bard of Odin, then we’ll tell you where to find the novelty in Valheim! Go to the merchant Haldor. Have a look at what he has on offer. A new item should catch your eye, the name of which is based on the Norse god of thunder.
If you buy the item for 50 gold coins, you will automatically unlock the recipe for the new building. Now you can build it in your base.
(The new item unlocks the necessary recipes.)
What else is in the update, you can read here:
What’s behind it
Well, now you really want to know. All right, the item at the merchant Haldor is called Thunder Stone. If you’re thinking of the Thunder Bar, you’re completely wrong. No, Valheim didn’t get toilets! But funny if we had the same thought.
Rather, the Thunder Stone lets you build the so-called Obliterator. This is a kind of workstation in which you can permanently destroy items.
Players have been wishing for this feature for a long time, as all the superfluous stuff used to persist in chests or in the Viking garden. With the Obliterator, a kind of rubbish destroyer has now been added to Valheim.
And what a! The Annihilator is a menacing-looking structure with a long pole in the middle reaching towards the sky. If you now load your superfluous resources into the thing, the great Viking moment happens: Thor, the god of thunder, shoots a lightning bolt into the safety gear and destroys the useless junk! It doesn’t get much more Nordic than that.
