The (Steam hit) Vampire Survivors is to get its own animated series. This would join many video game adaptations that have been planned lately, and that’s despite the fact that it was only released last year. What could one expect from a series on the pixel-retro rogue-like shoot-’em-up?

Thanks to its distinctive look and easy-to-learn and quickly addictive gameplay mechanics, Vampire Survivors could become one of the most popular and successful hit games of 2022 within a very short time. Numerous awards and millions of downloads followed. And although the gameplay looks simple at first glance, there is a lot of depth and an exciting story full of surprises and secrets behind the game from solo developer poncle. Move, dodge enemies, collect power-ups and upgrades, and eliminate legions of monsters with increasingly powerful auto-cast attacks and spells. That’s all there is to the surprise hit, and that’s what’s so brilliant about it that it’s still such a blast to play.

How do you think a series would capture the whole thing successfully and entertainingly? And would they stay true to the Castlevania roots and allusions of the title? The fact that the makers of the action series “John Wick” were commissioned to do this is already promising.

The animation format fits perfectly with the gaudy look of Vampire Survivors

An adaptation as an animated series is now being worked on behind the scenes. As the team of Vampire Survivors behind officially announced.

Together with the studio “Story Kitchen” is working on the project, for which there is still no concrete Releasetermib. “Story Kitchen” includes Derek Kolstad, who was responsible for the “John Wick” films, and Dmitri M. Johnson, who produced the Sonic feature films. Where the series will ultimately be seen, whether on Netflix, Amazon or another provider, is still unclear. An exact release date has also not yet been set, as the series is still in the planning phase. Nevertheless, the collaboration with renowned personalities from the film and series industry promises a promising implementation of the popular video game universe.
