The joint fight against the aliens overcomes even hardened platform boundaries
In Helldivers 2, a fierce tug-of-war is currently taking place for control of two important sectors – and it doesn’t look good: The Terminator-like Automatons are relentlessly advancing planet by planet, pushing the united front of PS5 and PC players further and further back.
Now there are cross-platform cries for help: Numerous PS5 users are calling for a mobilization on Xbox consoles on social networks: a release on the competitor console is needed.
The idea is simple: Since crossplay is already implemented anyway, why shouldn’t players on Xbox Series X and S join the fight against the Automatons and defend the planets of the humans?
“Console war over for now “
On Twitter, Reddit and other platforms, PlayStation users are reaching out to their Xbox counterparts and (some websites are already headlining) “Helldivers 2 could settle the console war between Xbox and PlayStation”. Nothing unites like a common enemy! Here are a few examples:

“Who exactly does this help? “
Not surprisingly (and probably not entirely disinterestedly), Xbox boss Phil Spencer also joins in the tenor and asks somewhat provocatively “who exactly will it help” if Helldivers 2 remains exclusive to PlayStation.
Microsoft recently announced its intention to bring more Xbox games to rival platforms. Sony, meanwhile, has not yet made any corresponding moves. Helldivers 2 is therefore unlikely to receive any support from Xbox players, at least in the foreseeable future.
PC and PS5 fighters will probably have to continue to spread democracy in the galaxy on their own.
