The upcoming life-simulation MMO Palia is committed to avoiding carnage while still delivering a good gaming experience by focusing on content that is more likely to be found as side quests in other games.
What is Palia?
Palia is an upcoming sandbox MMO from Singularity 6, first announced in 2021. Instead of a sword, you travel through the big world with a good mood and a lot of tools. You can build houses, fish, hunt, cook and much more together with your friends.
Overall, there is a lot of focus on community.

Housing
- Houses can be extended with new areas. However, building these takes real-time hours.
- Other players can get permission to change their own house.
Romances
- More than one person can be courted, but you must choose one of them if you want to romance.
Skills
- All skills have levels that can be increased throughout the game. Leveling up unlocks new content.
Farming
- There are different sized farming plots depending on the seeds.
- There is a black market with magic objects.
Fishing
- Fishing happens through a mini-game where you have to try to keep the silhouette of the fish in a circle.
- You get buffs while fishing by helping your friends.
Cooking
- Cooking is extensive and happens through different little mini-games.
Monetisation
- Monetisation of the game is done through cosmetic content.
An open beta for Palia will still start in August 2023.
