The popular indie game Among Us is soon to thrill us in the form of a series. Developer Innersloth is working together with an animation studio that has already gained experience with crazy series.
Five years ago, the colourful astronauts and those who pretended to be them became a pop culture hit. With Among Us, developer Innersloth has landed a real hit whose popularity still continues.
In this respect, it is not surprising that other companies are also targeting the brand and its monetisation potential.
As Variety reports, American production company CBS Studios has struck a deal with Innersloth to bring Among Us to series format. To bring the colourful astronauts to life, they are working with animation studio Titmouse, which has previously released the Netflix series Big Mouth or Star Trek: Lower Decks.
Essentially, the Among Us series will pick up the plot of the video game. Group members of the spaceship crew have been replaced by alien shape-shifters who now cause chaos, sabotage the ship and target the crew members. The real crew members must therefore use all their detective skills to track down the traitors.
