A whole range of exciting open-world games are currently heavily discounted on Steam and GOG. We’ll give you some tips on where it’s worth buying

Discount signs with big discounts are still up on Steam, GOG and Epic’s digital storefront until well into January. Wherever you look, video games are sometimes heavily discounted and often cost just a tenth of their original price

This time we give you tips for a few exciting offers among the numerous open world titles out there.

Interesting open world offers on Steam and GOG

  • Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition: Aloy’s first open-world adventure in a world populated by machine creatures. The addon The Frozen Wild is also included. (GOG and Steam: 12.50 euros, reduced by 75 percent).
  • Outcast – Second Contact: Adelpha awaits you! Coming soon with Outcast: A New Beginning a successor/sequel to the classic game. Until then, you still have enough time to play the remake of the first part and experience what makes the adventures of Cutter Slade unique to this day. (GOG and Steam: 1.50 euros, reduced by 90 percent).
  • Cyberpunk 2077 + Phantom Liberty: Thanks to Update 2.1 and the add-on, CD Projekt Red’s dystopian role-playing game is now where fans wanted it to be at the problematic release. (GOG: 54 euros, reduced by 33 percent. Steam: 51 euros, reduced by 43 percent).

  • Kingdom Come – Deliverance Royal Edition: Experience the Middle Ages more realistically than in almost any other game. And thanks to chic visuals and an open world modeled on the real Bohemia, you get the complete version of a piece of gaming history. (GOG and Steam: 8 euros, reduced by 80 percent).
  • Middle-earth – Shadow of War Definitive Edition: If you’ve always wanted to experience sieges in the Lord of the Rings universe, here’s your chance. Thanks to all the DLCs, you can look forward to dozens of action-packed hours in Mordor. (GOG and Steam: 7.50 euros, reduced by 85 percent).
  • Gothic 2 – Gold Edition: Ultimately, we’re not necessarily recommending Gothic 2, which has been more than just well known to almost all GameStar readers for a long time. No, we’re more interested in getting you started in an extremely active modding scene, which is constantly producing new projects that are definitely worth seeing in terms of quality. (GOG and Steam: 2,50 Euro, reduced by 75 percent).
  • Days Gone: In the post-apocalypse of Days Gone, the undead are called Freakers, but everything else remains exactly as you would expect from an open world: As cool biker Deacon St. John, you fight your way through sometimes gigantic zombie hordes, collect resources, upgrade your motorcycle and experience an exciting but somewhat predictable storyline. (GOG and Steam: 12.50 euros, reduced by 75 percent).

    • Fallout 4 – Game of the Year Edition: For those who can only smile wearily at the thought of setting off into Starfield‘s vastness, perhaps the latest single-player part of one of the best role-playing series of all time is something to pass the time while waiting for Fallout 5. (GOG and Steam: 10 euros, reduced by 75 percent).
