Exciting news for Witcher fans was revealed in the stream: the release date of the second Netflix season, DLCs for Witcher 3, a teaser for the Vesemir movie and more.

WitcherCon 2021 is over, but fans of the dark fantasy universe should still be in a good mood. After all, there was pleasant information about the Netflix series – and gamers were also thought of. The Witcher 3 is getting free DLCs in addition to the long-awaited next-gen update.

Witcher 3: Complete Edition & Free DLCs

Next-Gen Update: While there’s still no concrete release date for what the Witcher 3: Complete Edition upgrade will be called. It is scheduled for release sometime in 2021 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Owners of the original will get the update for free.

Free DLCs: With the next-gen version, Witcher 3 not only comes with enhanced graphics, but also has a few expansions in the bag. These are free and, according to the developer, inspired by the Netflix series:

What exactly is in the DLCs is not yet clear, but we suspect that armour and weapons from Season 1 will make an appearance. I wonder if Geralt will get to slip into the… special Nilfgaard armour?

Witcher series: season 2 has a start date

Season 2 release date: Starting December 17, 2021, we’ll get to see more adventures of Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer on Netflix. Season 2 consists of 8 episodes. Find out all about the story, cast and background here in our big special on the series:

Witcher Anime: First Teaser

Besides the series with Henry Cavill, there’s more The Witcher to watch soon! Netflix writes, “The world of The Witcher continues to expand with this 2D anime featuring the continent facing a massive new threat. “

release date: Granted, the teaser only shows a few seconds from this, but the video still makes you want to see more – at least if you’re into animated movies in general. We see a young Vesemir around whom the story of “Nightmare of the Wolf” revolves. Start date is 23 August 2021, the film is exclusively on Netflix.

More announcements: Book, Manga and more

– The Witcher: Ronin: What if Geralt was not in a Central European fantasy setting but in the traditional Japanese mythical world? A new comic wants to explore this question. However, the project has to be financed first, CDPR has decided to launch a Kickstarter campaign for it.

– Geralt figure: An action figure from Dark Horse, which is based on Henry Cavill’s Geralt. You can order it for 50 US dollars here.

– Reissue of the first book: The first Witcher novel by Andrzej Sapkowski, “The Last Wish”, is getting an illustrated hardcover edition coming out in December 2021. However, it looks like only an English version will be published for the time being. On Twitter you can see the first Yennefer illustration from the book:

What else is happening with The Witcher? The mobile game The Witcher: Monster Slayer will be released on 21 July 2021. Reminiscent of Pokemon Go in principle, but with familiar monsters from the PC games that you have to hunt down. And there’s also a lot going on in the card game Gwent: the “Season of the Griffin” event runs from 6 July to 3 August.
