We explain to you which bugs, errors and problems have been common since the pre-patch 9.0.1 for WoW Shadowlands and how you can fix them.

Yesterday, the pre-patch 9.0.1 for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands was released, and once again, a well-known saying came true: “Never play on patch day!

Not only were the login servers overloaded for a long time, so that many players were unable to play at all – Blizzard’s forums and the feedback thread on Reddit are currently full of new problems. In this article, we’ll explain what they are and how to solve them.

WoW Shadowlands 9.0.1 – Known issues

Character not found
If you cannot get into the game with a character, a simple restart of the game often helps. If that didn’t help: Try another character on the same server and then try again with the original hero. If that doesn’t help either, play briefly with a character on a less populated server and then try again.

Graphics card obsolete
WoW got higher system requirements with the pre-patch for Shadowlands – check the Blizzard website to see if your card is still sufficient. From now on you need a GPU that supports at least DirectX 11.0 and Shader-Model-5 to play. If this is the case, it may help to update the graphics driver.

Missing inventory slots
The pocket slots you get for activating two-factor authentication are missed by many players. Re-logging in or reloading the UI will help here. If you have just set up the 2FA, it can take about 30 minutes to get the extra seats.

Logging in works, but you can’t do anything
If you can log in, but can’t move and can’t click anything, this is probably due to your addons. Deactivate them and then go on troubleshooting by reactivating them one by one until you find the cause of the problem.

Missing eyeballs
If your character doesn’t have eyeballs or their textures are missing, this is probably due to your hardware. Apparently the error only occurs with older Athlon and Phenom processors from AMD, there is no solution yet.

Quest NPCs are not there
In highly populated zones such as capitals, it can currently happen that quest NPCs are not visible, even if their icon is displayed on the minimap. This is due to phasing. Check if the required NPC is perhaps somewhere else because of another quest series.

Blizzard is working on these bugs

Furthermore, the developers state on their homepage that they are currently working on the following problems:

– Gladiator mounts are missing
– The quest series for unlocking mechagnomes is currently not working properly
– The Boss Flying Suppression Unit JK-8 in Operation: Mechagnom cannot be defeated because the necessary pylons cannot be activated
– Warriors lack the Avatar skill
– Missing Druid mount skins
– Missing night warrior adjustments

In addition to these general errors, there are currently other bugs that affect active and passive skills of the individual classes. You can look them up at the colleagues of Wowhead.
