In September 2023, the time has finally come and Starfield will be released. But some people are already playing the space adventure now.

In just under two months, the highly anticipated space epic Starfield will be released. Those who pre-order the Collector’s Edition will get to play it five days early. Those who are bigwigs at Microsoft, on the other hand, even now. I beg your pardon? Yes, it’s true: Phil Spencer and co. have been spotted playing Starfield.

What happened?

Via Xbox Live it is possible, if the profile is set to public, to see which titles other players are currently playing. Among others, this is also the case with Xbox boss Phil Spencer and the vice president of Bethesda, Pete Hines.

Fans have noticed that the Xbox and Bethesda bosses are playing a game that has not actually been released yet, namely Starfield. This causes an uproar on the net, because after all, everyone else has been waiting for the role-playing game for many years. The fans react sharply, but mostly with humour and a twinkle in their eyes.

The Reddit user _Denizen_ writes for example:

Oh God, envy is strong.

The user JessieKaldwin writes for example:

They are working hard to find bugs to make Starfield as good as it can be for the fans.

The replies to this comment poke fun at how hard the work must be when you play Starfield.

Alluding to Early Access through the Collector’s Edition, user Temkkey writes:

Phil Spencer paid the ultimate price to get Early Access.

While most fans agree that Xbox bosses enjoy the game for the fun of it, user Neosss1995 has a theory of his own:

I think the game has apparently reached Gold status and they are testing it.

This would mean that the game is officially finished and that they are now mainly working on additional content and bugs. However, this theory should be taken with a grain of salt, as there are no indications of this from either Microsoft or Bethesda.

What do you think about Phil Spencer and Pete Hines already playing Starfield? Will you buy the game? We’re very interested in your opinion, so feel free to post it in the comments!
