Xbox Gamepass 2021

New PC games will be added to the subscription offer again in September. We tell you which titles will be available from when – and which will soon be dropped.

New month, new games for Game Pass – that’s the credo. In September 2021, new PC games will once again be launched that you can play at no extra charge if you have subscribed to the Xbox Game Pass.

So far, seven games have been announced that will also be released for the PC – and all of them will be included in the subscription directly on the day of release. Please note that this is probably not yet the complete monthly offer, Microsoft usually releases more new additions gradually. Of course, we’ll keep you up to date!

Xbox Game Pass for PC: New games in September 2021

Subnautica: Below Zero

Because a hostile and alien planet isn’t scary enough, Subnautica: Below Zero sends you into the dark depths of an alien ocean. Your goal: build better submersibles and stations, collect resources and not end up in the stomach of a deep-sea monster. With this blueprint, the survival game became a hit – find out more in the test video below.

Lost Words: Beyond the Page

A touching narrative adventure from the pen of author Rhianna Pratchett, who has co-written Heavenly Sword, Tomb Raider, Thief and Mirror’s Edge. In Lost Words: Beyond the Page, you explore the diary of a young woman named Izzy by running over words and pictures and using them to solve puzzles. You will also find lots of pretty paintings showing the fantastic land of Estoria. A little insider tip for story fans.

Tainted Grail: Conquest

A gritty reimagining of Arthurian legend, in the guise of a role-playing deckbuilder mix: This is Tainted Grail: Conquest. Originally called Fall of Avalon, it was successfully funded via Kickstarter under this title. If you’re in the mood for a story with important decisions and challenging gameplay, definitely check it out.

Astria Ascending

Developers from Final Fantasy have worked on Astria Ascending. And you can see that in the JRPG: It relies on classic 2D worlds, turn-based battles, mini-games and a complex story that should keep you busy for around 50 hours. You can choose from numerous classes and customise your team of heroes according to your taste.

Unsighted

Shortly before the end of the month, some more cyberpunk supplies will appear in Game Pass with Unsighted. This pixelated mix of role-playing game and classic Metroidvania puts you in the synthetic skin of the robot Alma. You have to save your machine comrades, because they are running out of the energy form “Anima”. Luckily, you have plenty of weapons and upgrade chips at your disposal. By the way, you can already get a free demo on Steam.

Flynn: Son of Crimson

In Flynn: Son of Crimson, you and your mysterious spirit companion Dex must save a beautiful island from a formidable threat. You jump and fight in hand-built 2D levels, collect relics and use weapons like swords, axes or claws. Later you will also master powerful elemental magic. Flynn will appear in the Game Pass directly at release.

Superliminal

Superliminal is… different. You could call it a puzzle game that plays with perspectives, and that kind of sums it up – but you should send along a warning note right away: This game will leave several Gordian knots in your brain. And you will probably love it. On Steam, Superliminal has already earned itself a cult status, standing extremely strong with 10,000 ratings and 94 percent positive reviews.

The best thing to do is to approach the game with an open mind, take two or three hours and enjoy the experience

Surgeon Simulator 2: Access all Areas

We’re losing Bob! Scalpel, dab! Quick, dump the mustard in the open abdominal cavity! Yes, Surgeon Simulator 2 is anything but medically accurate. You should bring a thick portion of black humour with you for the wacky OP sim. With “Access All Areas”, the Ultimate Edition will be released on 2 September, the same day the previous Epic exclusivity ends.

The Artful Escape

Teenager and passionate guitarist Francis embarks on a psychedelic journey to create an appropriately crazy stage persona. And we go along with him. The Artful Escape is hard to describe in words, best just watch the trailer – the pictures speak for themselves.

SkateBird

Cute birds on skateboards: that’s exactly what SkateBird offers, in which you control the birds through miniature arenas and let them perform spectacular tricks. Actually, the game was supposed to be released in August, but it has been postponed a bit more.

I Am Fish

With this crazy simulation, the developer team from Bossa Studios fulfils a heart’s desire for the fans. After I Am Bread, the community wanted a fish simulator with the same physics – but with a glass ball instead of baked goods. And I Am Fish is the answer. You have to roll through different worlds and watch out that your aquarium doesn’t break.

Aragami 2

Aragami 2 puts you in the silent shoes of a shadow clan ninja. While the predecessor focused more on exploration and clever infiltration, co-op plays a much more important role in the second part.

Sable

In the indie game Sable, we explore an alien but beautiful world with our speeder. The adventure game reminds us a little of Breath of the Wild, but is much simpler. There are no battles, but there are puzzles and a story about growing up. The Open World is supposed to be the real highlight of the game

Lemnis Gate

Lemnis Gate is a hero shooter with a first-person view. The time loop mechanic adds a special twist: Each match lasts only 25 seconds, during which you can influence the next run – a turn-based shooter, so to speak. How exactly this is supposed to work

These PC games will soon be leaving Game Pass

As usual, some games will be taken out of the Game Pass offer again in September, you won’t be able to download them again and will have to buy them if you want to continue playing. This time the following titles are affected:

From 15 September 2021

  • Forza Motorsport 7
  • Disgaea 4 Complete+
  • The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics
  • Company of Heroes 2: Complete Collection
