The open world will not take on the “epic proportions of a 200-hour Assassin’s Creed”, says the creative director
Star Wars: Outlawsis certainly not a small game: the open world encompasses several planets with various cities, including Tatooine with the infamous Mos Eisley spaceport.

This naturally raises the important question for many fans: How much playing time is there in Star Wars: Outlaws in total?
Julian Gerighty, the game’s creative director, now sheds some light on the subject. And he makes it clear: Outlaws will not be an AC epic with hundreds of hours of gameplay
60 hours for “Completionists “
In an interview with colleagues from VGC, Gerighty explains how long Star Wars Outlaws will be. It was decided early on in development that the campaign alone should be around 30 hours long
However, this only refers to the “golden path” along the main story. But then you haven’t seen the whole game.
Here are his details at a glance:
- Story only: 25-30 hours
- With side quests: 40-50 hours
- Completionist: 60 hours
“For a working person with a family, that’s still a decent amount,” says Gerighty. But you shouldn’t expect 200 or more hours of play. Completionists who want to do side activities outside of the main story can expect 50 to 60 hours
Among the activities outside of the story are mini-games, for example, which you can spend extra time on. These include, for example, the famous card game Sabacc – the very game in which Lando Calrissian lost the Raging Falcon to Han Solo in the run-up to Star Wars: Episode 4.
Exploration also plays a major role: you can even discover new locations in space on board the Trailblazer, such as space stations or merchants in distress.
Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30 on PS5, Xbox Series consoles and on PC via Ubisoft Connect or Epic. A Steam release is not planned for the time being.
