(You monster) – player lets almost his entire party die in Mass Effect, community is shocked

In games like Mass Effect, you actually try to keep as many characters as possible alive. One player approached it differently.

For some of us, the sting of the first playthrough of Mass Effect still runs deep. The trilogy not only tells a thrilling space story and lets you shoot futuristic weapons, but also offers a wide range of well-thought-out characters. During numerous battles and in-depth conversations, these grow so close to the hearts of most players that it hurts twice as much when a mission goes wrong. In all three Mass Effect games, important characters can lose their lives, and most try to avoid this as much as possible. Except for one user on Reddit, who has filled the board with fallen crew members to bursting point.

“These deaths were unavoidable”

User Antonio_Malochio posted his questionable achievement on the Mass Effect subreddit with the ironic words “I understand that the rest of the deaths were unavoidable, but did I mess up by letting Jenkins die?” Players who have played the first part for half an hour understand the joke.

Be honest, how many of these have you seen?

In the picture, Shepard is posing in front of a plaque mounted on the Normandy. It lists all the crew members who have died during all three parts.

Astute fans of the series may notice that not all of the characters who may lose their lives are shown here. Apparently there is simply not enough space for all the deceased. For example, Zaeed is missing, for whom, according to OP, there was no more space on the board.

In the comments, people are shocked at such heartlessness.

Yes. You have completely screwed up.

u/Yenko9 has clear words

Once upon a time, there was an ugly Shepard. He was so ugly that all the people died. The end.

Jeez… I’ve never seen so many crew names on this board. You really went all out, didn’t you?

u/ChocolateCondoms is overwhelmed

When asked how it is even possible that so many people die, OP answers

I only finished ME2 with Morinth and Zaeed, both of whom died in 3. Kaiden died in 1, Ashley died in 3. Javik is still dead. Something tells me that Liara and James might not survive the last mission…

In another comment, he also mentions that some crew members, such as Legion and Grunt, were not recruited in the first place, so they were spared from his kamikaze actions.

So in the end, it was pretty quiet on the Normandy of Antonio_Malochio. At least we now know that you can somehow finish Mass Effect even with maximum losses. But is it worth it?

Let’s hope that we’ll meet some unforgettable characters in the next part of the series. In any case, Bioware is working hard on Mass Effect 5. You can read more about this in the article linked above.
