The powerful and feared Oppressor Mk2 will soon cost a whopping eight million dollars in GTA Online. But for many players, the change makes little sense.
It is very popular, but at least as hated: The Oppressor Mk2 counts among the most powerful vehicles in GTA Online, which makes it correspondingly popular with griefers. After all, it is a flying rocket motorcycle that shoots homing missiles.
Now Rockstar Games has announced a significant change for the Oppressor Mk2: a price increase. Starting April 27, 2024, the good stuff should cost just under twice as much:
- current price: 2,925,000 to 3,890,250 GTA dollars.
- price after increase: 8,000,000 GTA dollars
Does a higher price solve the real problem?
However, this decision is viewed quite critically by gamers: On (Reddit) and (Twitter) many fans argue that this does not solve the real problem.
The Oppressor Mk2 is considered extremely powerful even after a nerf that weakened the accuracy of the homing missiles. While the price is sporty, it’s not a deal-breaker for experienced players, and in-game currency can be purchased via real money if need be.
In addition, players complain that many already own the Oppressor Mk2 at this point. In their eyes, adjusting the price after the fact is more like a drop of water on a hot stone.

However, the community might want to be patient: In the (official blogpost) Rockstar announces that select aircraft are currently being considered for potential balancing adjustments. So the possibility that the Oppressor Mk2 will be generated a second time is not out of the question.
More price adjustments in GTA Online
The Oppressor Mk2 isn’t the only vehicle in GTA Online to have its price adjusted retroactively. So some cars and planes will be cheaper, but others will be more expensive. Rockstar communicates that the new price should better reflect the potential, usefulness and value of the vehicle in question.
