Release: When will Los Santos Drug Wars be released?

• Date: Los Santos Drug Wars launches on 13 December 2022.
• Time: At approximately 11am  Time

Release in two parts: Note, however, that Los Santos Drug Wars is split into two parts. This means that on 13 December, not the complete content will be released, but only a part of it. The second part of Los Santos Drug Wars will probably follow in early 2023 – players can also expect drip-feed content.

By the way: That a new update for GTA Online will most likely be released at the end of 2022 was an open secret until now.   It’s official: With Los Santos Drug Wars, Rockstar has officially released the Winter Update 2022 for GTA Online.   Story: What’s Los Santos Drug Wars about?

  What’s it about: In Los Santos Drug Wars, Trevor’s buddy Ron returns, through whom we make acquaintance with his new … Friends(?): A gang of outsiders who call themselves Foolizanz and want to do business in Los Santos with psychoactive substances – and that’s where we come in. With the help of well-to-do hippies and trigger-happy bikers we cook up hallucinogens in a mobile drug lab – the new MTL Brickade 6×6. Does anyone still have to think of Breaking Bad?

  By the way, the new character Dax, who was already hinted at (in the previous Rockstar post) plays a major role in this.

  

  Content: What kind of content will Los Santos Drug Wars bring?

  Thanks to the (last three blog posts) by Rockstar and also the established insider (Tez2) we now have a pretty concrete idea of what kind of content is coming with Los Santos Drug Wars.

  Six new story missions: The story of Los Santos Drug Wars focuses on Ron, Dax and his gang, of course. There are also additional missions if you request them by calling Dax. Once you have completed the six First Dose missions, you get access to the MTL Brickade 6×6 as a mobile drug lab.

  Story: What’s the Winter Update about?

  In the (most recent blogpost) Rockstar has officially announced the Winter Update 2022 for GTA Online, but there is not much information available at the moment. But established insider Tez2 provides additional details: a few of them have already been confirmed, a few not yet.

  This is what we know officially: Rockstar promises a massive update that even spans several parts released one after the other. For a change, the setting will not be Los Santos, but the middle part of the GTA Online map: the desert Blaine County. Official screenshots also tease additional details:

  • A new character named Dax can be seen in the mobile phone contacts.
  • Trevor’s buddy Ron from GTA 5’s story campaign and also various GTA Online missions is apparently returning!
  • We are expanding the awareness of the citizens of Los Santos, which sounds like a new drug business.
  • A souped-up version of the Brickade armoured vehicle can be seen
  • A new taxi is also available

  This is what an insider reveals: The established Rockstar insider (Tez2) already provided potential details about the upcoming winter update of GTA Online a few weeks ago. He recently shared on Twitter that we will get to meet a new character named Drax and his Juggalo gang, while an old acquaintance (Ron?) will return. According to Tez2, there will be a new property and an LSD lab, as well as additional missions for one to four players, collectibles and a taxi service as a fast-travel option.

  Content: What kind of content is in the winter update?

  This is what’s coming: Rockstar is currently promising a massive update that will be released in several parts. In addition to new story missions, a fleet of new vehicles, additional in-game events, contact missions and more will be released. However, there are currently no concrete details on this.

  Free car as a gift: But at least we already know that the new Declasse Tahoma Coupe will be free for all GTA Online players. With the car, Rockstar rewards the community that captured more than four trillion (yes, trillion) GTA dollars in the course of the last Heist Challenge.

  Quality of Life: What improvements does the update bring?

  This is to come: The Criminal Enterprises already delivered a whole range of useful Quality of Life improvements that GTA Online players had been waiting for for years. In the future, Rockstar plans to deliver more of them. For example, the following updates:

  • Unusable phone contacts can be hidden, which takes the hassle out of in-game phone scrolling. This should allow us to contact NPCs like Lester or the mechanic more quickly.
  • The missions of the terror byte can be started in all sessions in future and thus no longer only in public ones.
  • The penthouse missions of the Diamond Casino Resort by Agatha Baker can now also be completed alone and thus without a partner. Previously, at least one co-op partner was indispensable.
  • Purchased vehicles appear faster in the selected garage.
  • Selected armed vehicles can also be used in races, but their weapons are of course deactivated.
  • The cash payout of contraband missions is tripled, finally making them more lucrative again. In addition, completing Vehicle Cargo sales missions in public sessions also pays out a High Demand bonus.
  • The mechanic will also be able to deliver bicycles and not just cars and motorbikes in the future.
  • On Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, GTA Online gets ray tracing reflections.
  • The value of Shark Cards available via real money will be increased: Players will get more GTA Dollars if they want to invest their real money in GTA Online.
