The GTA Trilogy is to be supplied with new patches soon. Rockstar Games breaks its silence and provides info on a new update.
The GTA Trilogy will receive new patches. And that already next week. Rockstar has finally broken its silence regarding new updates for GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition and announced the info via statement on Twitter.
What’s next for GTA Trilogy
When are the patches coming? Rockstar has not yet communicated an exact release date. At the moment, all we know is that GTA Trilogy is due to receive its first patch 2022 in the week beginning 28 February. The Rockstar tweet talks about new patches, so the updates might be split up.
Which platforms will the patch be released for? According to Rockstar, the update will be rolled out to all platforms for which GTA Trilogy is available. This means that players on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, as well as PS4 and Xbox One can look forward to the update.
What exactly do the patches fix? It is currently unknown which problems the updates will specifically address, how big the first patch will be in 2022 and what will happen to the GTA Trilogy afterwards. Of course, we will keep you up to date on this and also let you know if the new patch changes anything in our rating of the game collection.
New patches are coming next week for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition across all platforms. We appreciate the community’s patience and support.

Is Rockstar finally working on its communication? Among the comments on the tweet, there is definitely some encouragement among players and fans. Because with this, Rockstar Games is communicating more openly and transparently than was the case in the previous months
The almost non-existent communication caused a lot of frustration in the community of Grand Theft Auto and especially Red Dead Redemption. A circumstance we denounced in our column on the subject at the beginning of 2022.
Since then, the wind seems to be shifting, at least tentatively: Rockstar not only officially confirmed the development of GTA 6, but is now also giving an overdue update on GTA Trilogy.
What are the problems with GTA Trilogy?
The launch of the new editions of GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas can be described as a debacle with a clear conscience – which is reflected in international tests and user ratings. The launch was overshadowed by numerous technical problems that continue to this day. In the meantime, sales even had to be stopped and the trilogy was temporarily removed from players’ libraries.
Since then, Rockstar has tried to turn things around. PC players not only received the classic versions of GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas, but also another Rockstar game for free as an apology. Console players, however, went away empty-handed. Whether the GTA Trilogy 2022 can now really become a Definitive Edition through new updates and patches remains to be seen.
