Some LoL players have been very critical of the announced Kai’Sa nerf. Now, a Riot developer responds to the complaints and leaves question marks among the community.

The Kai’Sa nerf announced for patch 13.15 caused a big backlash in the League of Legends community. Now, Riot Dev “Phreak” has spoken out about the criticism and is causing some players to be upset with his explanation.

LoL patch 13.15 – Finally a Kai’Sa nerf?

Kai’Sa is set to get a nerf with 13.15, according to the Early Patch Notes. Many LoL players looked forward to the adjustments, as AP-Kai’Sa is currently making life hell for some in the Summoner’s Rift.

As Spideraxe shared on Twitter, both their Q and W will be adjusted. The AP scaling of her Q will be reduced from 30% to 20%. Furthermore, the Cooldown Refund of her W will be reduced from 77% to 75%.

The changes don’t take effect until August 2 with the release of patch 13.15, but reactions to Spidersaxe’s tweet already show what the community thinks of the nerf.

“Is this an April Fool’s joke out of season? “

Reactions to the announced changes to Kai’Sa are pretty mixed.

Most Twitter comments ironically joke that the champ is now “unplayable” and that Riot should please not roll out any more nerfs.

Others can’t quite judge whether the announcement on the part of Riot is actually meant seriously.

In the eyes of the community, the nerfs are a joke and don’t really make the champion weaker.

Riot developer Phreak now commented on the criticism and went into more detail about the planned changes on Reddit.

“Players are really bad at reading patch notes “

On Reddit Phreak was asked by a user to comment. In his response, the developer explains what the balancing team was thinking when making the changes.

The former Esports commentator can’t help but make a somewhat subjective comment regarding the harsh criticism of the nerfs, however.

Gamers are really bad at reading patch notes and understanding them. Pros included.

With his comment, he alludes to the fact that both amateurs and pro players often read the patch notes without thinking about how the changes might actually end up affecting the game.

While the minor changes to Kai’Sa could certainly impact her winrate in amateur play, it remains to be seen how the nerfs will play out in pro play.

Streamer and shoutcaster Clayton Raines, however, has a relatively firm opinion on the matter:

Despite his frustration, the entertainer stresses that the community should not take his tweet as a reason to go after LoL’s balancing team. He is only venting his exasperation with the current pro-meta
