End, over and done: the League of Legends World Championship ends with a disastrous result for the European region: all four participating teams failed to beat the international competition.
First Team BDS, then MAD Lions, followed by Fnatic and finally G2 Esports. All four of the eSports organizations originating from Europe failed to qualify for the final round of the League of Legends World Championship. However, in the cases of Fnatic and G2 Esports, the decision was extremely close.
At least we didn’t lose 6 in a row 💀

While Team BDS was eliminated from the tournament quite early with no wins and three losses, the MAD Lions at least managed to celebrate a triumph. But even for the LEC third team it was already over after that. Fnatic and G2 Esports, on the other hand, started the tournament quite differently. While runner-up Fnatic somehow fought their way through the Swiss Stage, G2 started directly with two wins.
In the end, both teams had to prove themselves in a best-of-three against the competition from China in order to be able to celebrate their entry into the Knockout Stage. However, despite some good performances, neither Fnatic nor G2 Esports managed to prevail against Weibo and BLG, respectively.
The best in the west?
This means that NRG remains the only western representative in the tournament and can directly compete with Weibo Gaming in the first match of the final round. This will be played next Thursday from 09:00 CEST. In the other games GEN. G and BLG (Friday), JDG and KT (Saturday) as well as LNG and T1 (Sunday) will play each other at the same time.
