Many fans called the LEC’s Season Final ticket purchase “disgusting “

Tickets to the LEC 2023 Season Final have been available for purchase since 12/07. As most suspected, these sold out within minutes (!). This led to great despair and anger among many LEC enthusiasts.

Scalpers and lack of organisation

By deliberately buying large quantities of tickets and selling them, called scalping, the so-called scalpers have made many enemies in the community. At the latest since the chip crisis and the associated shortage of consoles and graphics cards, most people should be familiar with scalping. Therefore, it is all the more frustrating for normal buyers when tickets are sold out after less than 12 seconds due to such scalping.

Some users complained about the poor organisation of the LEC sales, which should be many times better given the -by now- lavish size of the LEC staff. Especially the capacity of the location of the offline event in Montpellier the Sud de France Arena, with up to 13500 spectators, made fans hope for a place at the finals.

Deterrence as the best means

Fans are now calling for a better solution for future events, suggesting scalpers be put out of business with personalised ticketed tickets or limits on the amount you can buy, similar to Taylor Swift concerts.
