In the upcoming patch 11.17 in League of Legends, special new features await champions Amumu and Lucian, according to Riot Games.

The patch cycle for the upcoming 11.17 update in League of Legends has begun. According to Riot Games lead game designer Jeevun “Jag” Sidhu, changes to top lane and jungle champion Amumu are in store for the new patch. Similarly, AD Carry Lucian is to be moved back towards the bot lane with some changes instead of being played in the middle of the map. The adjustments to both champions are currently being tested on PBE servers.

The Sad Mummy in the Spotlight

Amumu has almost completely disappeared from the game’s meta for the duration of recent LoL patches. He should therefore gain strength that could bring him back into the spotlight, especially at higher skill levels

.

In the post, Jeevun Sidhu therefore talks about a double use of Amumu’s Q skill. However, to compensate for the mummy’s double bandage throw, other components of Amumu’s kit are to be weakened. The game designer does not yet specify what exactly these are.

Lucian’s Lane Displacement

ADC Lucian has been showing very strong performances on the mid-lane lately. Therefore, Riot Games wants to change the shooter a bit to give his actual vocation on the bot lane more importance again.

For the AD-Carry even exact status values are already known, which are to be applied to three of his abilities as well as his base values.

As a base, Lucian is soon to do slightly reduced AD damage. His passive ability “Lightslinger” could benefit more from ally buffs in the future, which would make teaming up with a Supporter more attractive.

The W ability “Ardent Blaze” should also benefit from the interaction with team members and cost less mana. In contrast, the Ultimate “The Culling” could do less damage overall. A constant and slightly reduced number of shots sounds weaker than before, but they scale with critical hit chance.

Patch 11.17 is planned for 25 August so far. Until then, the aforementioned changes to both champions are still being tested on LoL’s PBE servers.
