League of Legends blind pick is being replaced. The developers bring us the new Quickplay, which allows you to skip the tedious Champion selection directly.

The Blind Pick in League of Legends is a rather less popular mode of the community. Because even in the blind pick, players had to go to the champion selection and then wait for some time before the game could start.

Therefore, the developers have taken it upon themselves to give players a more attractive alternative to the rated modes. Quickplay will be coming to the PBE soon and will give us our first look at why blind pick has to go.

What is Quickplay anyway?

Quickplay, as the name suggests, is meant to be a faster alternative to the previous blind pick. An easier and faster way to get into the game, without the wait in the queue and champion selection.

That is, you select your desired role and champions already in the lobby and are loaded directly into the game. The whole thing is meant to prevent toxic behaviour and friction with fellow players in the champion selection of the blind pick.

What’s the problem with blind picks?

Blind-Pick was designed to have fast cues and also to be able to start the game quickly. But due to the limited time in the champion selection and the negotiation with the teammates about the team composition and lane distribution, the whole thing became a test of patience and was very frustrating in the end.

In addition, there are players who directly bypassed negotiating for a certain position by simply selecting their champion and claiming the corresponding lane. This meant that the rest of the players had to adapt to it.

New players also have a hard time in the blind pick. Often these were forced into roles they had no idea about and with a rather limited champion pool, as you have to unlock new champions.

What are the expectations of Quickplay?

With Quickplay, players should be offered a way to get into the game faster and be able to use the time in the game more effectively. Without the pre-game time in the champion selection and the associated stress with the other players.

In addition, you should be able to play the role you feel like and not still have to fight with your teammates for the position.

It should generally be a more enjoyable atmosphere for the average player and beginners in League of Legends who just want to play and tend to be less focused on competitive.

Quickplay will be available on the PBE from 27 October.
