League of Legends legend Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok has once again set a new record. In the match against GEN G, the MOBA veteran managed to record his 500th victory.

The list of achievements is long and there is hardly any room left in the display case for more trophies: That Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok will probably forever be one of, if not the best League of Legends player of all time is hard to argue against.

After suffering the first defeat of the current season in the course of the match against the Kwangdong Freecs – leaving the MSI aside – the record-breaking world champion is setting a new league, if not world, record together with his own eSports team T1. Faker became the first player to record his 500th LCK win overall in the match against GEN G.

This achievement seems all the more remarkable when one recalls that, unlike in the USA and Europe, the Bo3 model is still used in Korea. Accordingly, an event is only considered won as soon as one of the participants manages to win two out of three maps.

Already a legend – Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok

Until 2019, there was an internal league rivalry with long-time Kt Rolster player Go “Score” Dong-bin regarding “local records”, who even before Faker managed to become the first LCK pro to record 300 wins as well as 500 kills. In the meantime, however, he is active as a head coach for GEN G, which is why the T1 Mid Laner can continue to work undisturbed on his already glorious legend status.

Currently, T1 are in first place in the Korean LoL League LCK, but they share this position with GEN G. Both teams have lost one game so far. Both teams have lost one game so far, but have won six in return.
