The leaks are right again. The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story is set to be an unusual action RPG in the LoL universe

The chains have been broken: In The Mageseeker, everything revolves around mage Sylas, who in his pixelated form thrashes at enemies from the iso-perspective. The new action role-playing game is part of the A League of Legends Story series, which already includes three spinoffs, for example Ruined King.

The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story is scheduled for release in spring 2023 and has now been officially revealed. In the trailer together with the two other games Convergence and Song of Nunu you can also find some gameplay (from 0:38):

What is The Mageseeker about?

The popular LoL hero Sylas is the focus of The Mageseeker, after all, that’s exactly what he is. In his homeland of Demacia, magic is forbidden, although the powerful use it to consolidate their power. According to the press release, players can raise an army of fugitive mages and lead a revolution.

The Mageseeker is also said to be an action-packed fantasy game experience with a plot around power, identity and justice.

What we get to see in the short gameplay snippets is reminiscent of a classic action RPG or even MOBA, at least as far as combat and perspective are concerned, only with pixel optics. Whether there will be a progression system, learnable skills and possibly different builds has not yet been announced.

But it shouldn’t be too long before more information is published. After all, it’s not far until spring 2023, when The Mageseeker is due to be released for PC and unspecified consoles.

Riot Games has been on a major offensive with League of Legends at least since the successful Netflix series Arcane. We summarise what is known so far about new games and spin-offs in the article above!
