Since patch 12.12, there have been an increasing number of reports about champions with invisible abilities. How does this happen and how can you see if an enemy has cast an ability? We’ll tell you.

In League of Legends, there have always been champions who can hide themselves, cast abilities that are barely visible or have skins that make their attacks almost invisible. Now there also seems to be a bug that does something similar and leads to unexpected attacks and deaths.

That’s why abilities are invisible

In the mists of war or in bushes, enemies are otherwise invisible, should they attack you, you will usually see their attacks as soon as they come into your field of vision. Currently, however, the abilities, or at least a part of them, remain invisible if the enemy champion has cast them outside your field of vision. Even if you spot your opponent while the spell is still being cast.

A video has now been published on the YouTube channel (Hextech Lab) showing how the bug affects the game.

This bug also seems to occur in ranked games and naturally annoys players the most there, where their promotion or relegation is at stake. Ranged champions like Ezrael or Ashe are particularly often affected, who can even shoot their ultimate abilities invisibly across the entire map. But also stuns and knock ups, from Nunu and Morgana are probably more often invisible and can thus strongly influence the game.

So you can see abilities despite the bug

Of course, the most important thing here is to warden, warden, warden! Otherwise you only have a chance if you see the enemy champion directly after he has cast an ability. Pay attention to his mana bar. If he has launched an invisible attack on you, it will decrease.

Of course, you can’t tell from this exactly which direction the ability is going. Moreover, it takes eagle eyes and nerves of steel to keep an eye on the opponent’s mana bar during the fight. So Riot should solve the problem as soon as possible!
