In the first round of the League of Legends World Championship play-in stage, PSG Talon took on Movistar R7, while LOUD and GAM Esports clashed.
Who will move on to the next round of the Upper Bracket?
That question was answered this morning in the matches between PSG and R7 and LOUD and GAM with a clear announcement to the rest of the field.
In the first match of the day, PSG Talon and Movistar R7 met. The Paris Saint-Germain-sponsored eSports team didn’t let the butter be taken off their bread in either Match 2, dominating the competition from Latin America almost throughout.
Nevertheless, the Hong Kong-based organisation needed just under 30 minutes to wrap up the first victory. The second encounter, on the other hand, played out exactly as most pundits had expected: PSG rolled over their rivals to advance to the next round of the Upper Bracket.
Movistar R7, however, has not been eliminated altogether. Like GAM Esports, who clearly lost 2-0 to LOUD, the team can still hope to advance in the Lower Bracket. Both teams will meet on Friday, 13 October 2023. Before that, the match between PSG Talon and LOUD will take place on Thursday, scheduled for 09:00 German time.
