It’s supposed to bring the feel of a shooter game to League of Legends. In a blog post, Riot Games reveals exciting information about the new AD-
“A champion who plays the game with the speed of a machine gun” – This is the outlook for the AD-Carry currently in development in League of Legends. In the latest blog entry of the “Champion Roadmap”, developer Reav3 gave a preview of the identity of the next shooter, but also had bad news for all bot laners to deliver.
New ADC not until next year
Originally, Riot Games had planned to release the new AD Carry and a new Support later this year. These releases are to take place “early next year”. The ADC is to be released first and the new support “a few patches later”.
In the blog entry, Reav3 also gives the first hints about the identity and unique play style of the new ADC. It is noticeable that he uses particularly many vocabulary words in connection with electricity. The developer promises an “electrifying launch in 2022”. The new shooter is “charging up” to finally be allowed into the gulf. They had wanted to develop a “kinetic” shooter that was always on the move, “pulsing with energetic determination.” Attached to the blog entry is a picture of a blueprint that could belong to some kind of machine. A pair of pliers can also be seen.
Unique auto-attack mechanic announced
In the past, Riot had already varied the Auto-Attack mechanics with champions like Graves, Jhin or Xayah. This is also supposed to be the case with the upcoming champion. This one will bring “the feel of a shooter game” to League of Legends, the developer update says. “For the new champion, we wanted to re-explore the role of the auto-attack in a shooter’s kit and see if we could completely flip its purpose,” the blog post said.
Supporters on Money
Also the subject of the update is new information about the announced supporter, whose identity is likely to revolve around the theme of money. “Cash rules everything around me,” the paragraph reads, among other things. More about the game mechanics and whether the supporter is connected to the new ADC remains open for the time being.
