During Worlds 2021, there will once again be plenty of rewards and drops for hardworking viewers in League of Legends.
In a post from Riot Games on Thursday, the developer announced that there will once again be loot to pick up during Worlds 2021. The League of Legends World Championship in Iceland is just around the corner and already the new Worlds song and photos of players arriving are making LoL hearts beat faster with anticipation for the event
We take a look at Riot’s post and show you what’s up for grabs. For starters, there are three main ways through which you can get your hands on the loot: viewer rewards, drops and participation in the Pick’ems – the World Cup betting game.

If you meet one of these three requirements, you can receive Worlds Loot capsules. Already in the play-ins you have the chance to get exclusive emotes, Esport capsules or Hextech crates and keys.
To get the drops, you need to sign up on the Lolesports website, link your League of Legends account and watch the streams of the event. Drops are random and happen scattered throughout the tournament. In the post, Riot even mentions specific moments when drops are most likely to happen – during pentakills in matches, for example. Other such triggers are said to be multikills and objective steals.
The developer also indicates that the rewards may vary by region, but are largely global. The drops will be distributed in all three stages: the play-ins, the group stage and the knockout stage. The Worlds start on 5 October, but it’s best to log in before then and be prepared! Open questions will be answered in a Q&A section in the Riot Games post. We wish you a good harvest!
