The World Championship in League of Legends will be played on Patch 12.18. Riot Games is therefore making less serious adjustments to the game in the significant update.

Riot Games released patch 12.18 on Wednesday. On this updated version of League of Legends, teams will play at Worlds 2022. The changes are relatively minor shortly before the World Championship. Nevertheless, some of them are worth mentioning.

With the patch, a total of four champions will receive a buff in League of Legends. As is often the case before the World Cup, Lee Sin can look forward to a minimal improvement. In the LoL community, the champion has become a meme because of this, as Lee Sin is regularly boosted before the yearly highlight. His maximum life as well as life steal and Spellvamp of the W skill have been improved.

In addition, Ashe, Thresh and Nasus receive a buff. The former is a useful support in the current season. Ashe can now score with higher attack speed on her Q skill and is thus a candidate for picks at Worlds.

On the other hand, Miss Fortune, who had recently received a buff with patch 12.17, has to brace herself for a nerf. The increase in life and attack damage will be reduced for the champion. Lulu will also receive a buff to her W ability. Furthermore, there is a nerf for Hecarim, Kalista, Kayn and Nocturne.

The update also brings priority roles to League of Legends. This allows players to see which role is most in demand and even choose it afterwards. This bypasses the autofill and allows LoL fans to find a game more quickly. In addition, Azir will receive a special skin for the 2022 Worlds and six champions, including Renata Glasc, will be given a Fright Night skin.

In League of Legends the next update is coming soon. Patch 12.18 is scheduled for 21 September and includes minor changes before Worlds 2022 kicks off on 29 September. Udyr is set to receive a buff as a DPS but a nerf as a tank.

According to a tweet on Wednesday from lead designer at Riot Games, Matt “Phroxzon” Leug-Harrison, the Spirit Walker in Summoner’s Void is expected to get a buff to his health and armour with patch 12.18. In addition, Iron Mantle’s life restoration and shield are expected to be generated. However, Wilding Claw and Wingborne Storme will probably be improved to buff Udyr’s damage.

With the upcoming patch 12.18, a buff for the four champions Ashe, Thresh, Lee Sin and Nasus is also planned. Ashe is to be buffed in her actual role as a bot laner by improving the attack speed of her Q ability. Thresh, on the other hand, is likely to see an increase in health and damage from his E-skill.

However, nerfs are planned for six League of Legends champions, including Miss Fortune, who recently received a buff with patch 12.17. It is supposed to reduce the increase in health and damage for the AD Carry. Furthermore, Kalista, Hecarim, Rhaast and Lulu as well as Nocturne can probably expect a buff.

The next update in League of Legends is scheduled for Wednesday, September 21. Patch 12.18 will include the final changes for the 2022 World Championship, which starts on 29 September. Besides Thresh, Miss Fortune will also be adjusted.

Just before Worlds 2022, Riot Games says it will only make minor changes to some champions. According to a tweet on Tuesday from Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison, the lead designer, the update will not massively tinker with the current meta, especially since some champions have been changed more in recent patches.

With the upcoming League of Legends update, four champions will probably receive a buff, namely Thresh, Lee Sin, Nasus and Ashe in their original role as bot laner. On the other hand, six champions are expected to receive nerfs: In addition to Miss Fortune, who only received a buff in total with the latest patch 12.17, Hecarim, Kalista, Lulu, Nocturne and Kayn in his Rhaast form are also to be weakened.

In addition, adjustments are still planned for Maokai and Udyr. In the case of the tainted tree giant, patch 12.18 will reportedly focus on a reworking of his intended role. In the case of Udyr, whose major rework was released only a few patches ago, potential item builds are to be adjusted.
