A YouTuber plays Minecraft without leaving his spawn point and instead lets the Open World come to him.

Minecraft has an infinitely large, mystery-filled, colourful Open World – which you can just ignore completely. YouTuber Call Me Kevin has therefore set himself a challenge: He plays Minecraft without ever leaving his tiny spawn field. And it works amazingly well.

This is how he plays from his prison

If the player doesn’t come to the Open World, then the Open World simply comes to the player. Following this concept, the YouTuber tries to outsmart his own prison. For his 16×16 starting field comes with a series of challenges.

He has no water, no food, and without sheep, no bed to make time pass. So he has to deal with zombies all night long, and of course it’s especially fun when the ever-popular Creeper comes along and blows everything up.

So he comes up with creative solutions to get ahead. He collects rainwater, lures sheep with grass and locks them in his field and uses a trick to get to materials further away. With trees cut down and stones quarried away from his field, he builds blocks within reach to slowly push the quarried blocks in his direction.

There is clearly no shortage of fun and success in this, because Call Me Kevin has meanwhile already filmed a second episode of his tiny adventure:

Minecraft thrives on its numerous challenges, community mods and wild experiments – like building what is actually an impossible circle in what is arguably the world’s most angular game:

What was your wildest experiment in Minecraft? Tell us about it in the comments, we look forward to hearing your stories.
