The Trails and Tales update for Minecraft is set to make huge changes to the sandbox perennial. The release of 1.20 is imminent
The launch date for Minecraft 1.20 is fast approaching – and thanks to a pre-release for the Java edition of the creative game, you can already download the big Trails and Tales update. At least in an unfinished pre-release as a so-called snapshot. The change log with all the changes can be found on page 2 of this news.
If you are interested, you can activate the snapshots in the “Installations” tab in the Minecraft Launcher. All others will have to wait a little longer: An exact release date for Mineraft patch 1.20 does not yet exist. However, players will most likely not have to wait much longer.
According to experience, the developer Mojang publishes several snapshots over the course of several weeks before the final version is available for download after the release candidates. In the case of version 1.19, the process last took three weeks.
What Minecraft 1.20 does that”s new
The changes from the latest snapshot are mostly bug fixes, but Trails and Tales is expected to change a lot more. The new archaeology feature is eagerly awaited, thanks to which you can find clay shards and reassemble them into objects. In addition, the camel is a new mount for two players at the same time and the (actually extinct) sniffer can be bred as a farm animal.
The Dungeons & Dragons DLC goes in a completely different direction, turning Minecraft into a fantasy role-playing game. Take a look at the trailer:
But back to Update 1.20. The fresh cherry blossom biome, including corresponding trees and wood, will be especially beautiful in soft pink. In addition, after the patch you will finally be allowed to use bamboo as a building material for structures, there will be functioning bookshelves, armour decoration, hanging shields and new skins.
