The information on the character transfer in New World is causing anger among players – because contrary to initial information, it will not be possible to change regions.
At the weekend there was finally news about the planned character transfer in New World. Every player should be able to change servers with a character for free – because many players are currently unable to play on a server with their friends. The long queues after release forced most of them to switch to other servers. However, the character transfer does without a hoped-for feature that Amazon had misleadingly announced.
No region change possible
The character transfer only lets you switch between world sets – but you have to stay in the region you have selected. So you can’t switch from an EU server to a US server, for example. Many players relied on a Twitter response from the New World developers, which supposedly promised a region change. Under the announcement of the server change, one player asked whether it would also be possible to switch between US and EU servers.

According to the developers, however, there was a misunderstanding. What was meant was that you can choose any region. But not without creating a new character. Existing characters must remain in the chosen region. This misunderstanding had already been cleared up by a support staff member in the New-World-Forum, but the confusion persisted. Now it’s official.
Players are frustrated and demanding their money back
Due to the supposed promise in September, many players switched to other regions to avoid queues and relied on being able to switch to their region later. They would now have to start all over again with a new character after two weeks of play and would lose their progress. The reactions on Twitter are correspondingly frustrated and many players are demanding their money back
You should offer refunds. People have been creating characters on low capacity servers to avoid 7-12 hour queues and because you promised we could switch to any server in any region within two weeks. Now you say your company made a mistake when this was said publicly. Refund please.

You must offer refunds. I just wasted over 40 hours getting to level 40 and now find out I have to do it all over again to play with friends. Forget it. The game is just fun enough to play through the low levels once, but definitely not twice.
