New World gets first update 1.0.1

 

The first post-launch patch for the MMO will be released on 6 October. We summarise the most important changes and bug fixes.

Patch 1.0.1 and with it the first update for New World is in the starting blocks. Those of you who have already managed to get a place on the overcrowded servers can look forward to a number of bug fixes and other adjustments.

Unfortunately, there is also bad news on the server front: The update does not yet bring the announced character transfers and larger server capacities. According to the official blog post, the developers are still working on this – at least the free transfers are supposed to be released in the week of 6 October.

When will the update be released? You can download the patch from 6 October 2021 at 12 noon.

Better Performance: In War Mode, New World should now run smoother after projectiles from towers are calculated differently (no longer as physical objects).

Against AFK-ers and full servers
: Players will now receive a warning faster if they are detected as AFK on a server. They will also be kicked out of the game five minutes faster if they ignore the notice. As it can be difficult to get onto a server, some players had recently tried to stay in the game even if they were not playing at the time. This, of course, exacerbates the overpopulation problem.

No more queue accidents: Before you leave the queue of a server, the game will now ask you again if you really want to do that. Apparently, there have been a lot of complaints that people accidentally click on Exit.

General bug fixes
  • Fixed a rare bug where the interact button was not working properly on various objects in the world.
  • Fixed a bug where the barrel would not appear on the emote: Pirate Stance.
  • Fixed a bug where players were not receiving talers as rewards for some activities.
  • Fixed a bug where the fast travel animation was interrupted. This resulted in characters being stuck inside a house.
    • Fixed a bug where Master Zindt was having double respawns at the Kannan Tomb landmark.
      • Fixed a bug where the “Discard Event” notice would sometimes remain visible even after the player had cancelled the event.Fixed a bug where the fast travel animation was interrupted.
        • Fixed a bug related to area call rewards. Some translations were missing here.
        • Fixed a bug that caused players to be asked multiple times to claim titles for achievements after logging back into the game, even though they had already claimed those rewards.

        • Fixed game crashes related to New World’s Twitch integration.
        • Fixed a rare bug where players could get into a state where they could no longer be hit by most attacks.
        • Fixed a bug where certain containers of items could be looted infinitely.

      • Fixed a bug that caused Pastor Walsh to spawn as an aggressive mob at the Walsham landmark.
      • Fixed a bug that caused enemies to spawn slower than intended at the Cattail Swamp landmark.
      • Fixed a bug that caused Warden Zane to respawn slower than intended in the “What to Prove” task.
    Fixes Quests
    • Added missing information in the quest directories about the recommended quest level for players who want to unlock the second faction rank.
    • Fixed an issue where resetting the Blessing of the Earth task would block progress in the main storyline if you had obtained one of the blessings.
    • Fixed an issue where the Azoth Explosion task was unavailable to players if they had previously completed other Wind Circle tasks.
    • Fixed an issue where completing the Pumpkin of Charity task prevented the player from taking on the Arruda Jam task.
    • Fixed an issue where talking to the tavern owner in “First Light” could lead to a situation where it was no longer possible to take on new tasks from the tavern owner.
    • Fixed an issue that prevented the player from taking on the “Hunter and Hunted” and “High Expectations” tasks after completing the “Thirst for Revenge” task.
    • Fixed an issue where completing the “Curse of the Ebony Falcon” task prevented the player from taking on the “Bond’s Opening” task.
    • Fixed an issue where completing the task “The Expedition to Saircor” prevented the player from taking the task “A Threat Currently”.
    • Fixed an issue where completing the task “The Strength of Earth” prevented the player from taking on the tasks “Fading Light” and “Tears from Azure”.
    • Fixed an issue where completing the “Twisted Transformation” task prevented the player from taking on the “The Blessings of the Fallen” task.
    • Fixed an issue where completing the task “Light and Darkness” prevented the player from taking on the tasks “Descend to Frost Slumber” and “Iron to Dust”.
