A bug allows players to make themselves immortal in the MMO. This causes problems especially in the PvP war. A fix is said to be in the works.

New World has a problem with immortality. And for once, it has nothing to do with the mysterious material Azoth: At the moment, a severe exploit is getting on the nerves of many players, which makes characters invulnerable and thus completely throws off the balancing in the PvP war. Developer Amazon Game Studios is aware of the bug, but cannot yet set a date for a fix.

What kind of exploit is this?

Of course, we don’t give step-by-step instructions on how to reproduce the bug here. Instead, we’ll just briefly explain what it is and what Amazon has to say about it.

Invulnerable due to exploit: As numerous players report in the official New-World-Forum, the exploit is mainly used in faction warfare. Characters can make themselves invulnerable for an unlimited time and thus besiege a point without the opponents being able to do anything about it. You can’t move during this time, but the exploit still provides massive unfair advantages. Here’s what one player recorded to report it to Amazon:

What do the developers have to say? A community manager from New World has already spoken out: The team is aware of the bug and is currently working on it. However, there was no information on how and when the exploit will be eliminated.

What do the players say? Many are of course very annoyed that such an exploit is possible. It is said to be used massively on many servers, which is why some are demanding that wars be paused until the problem is solved. It is also frustrating for many that the unfairly conquered areas are now in the hands of other factions.

We will of course keep you up to date and let you know as soon as there is news about the exploit – or a solution is in sight. At the moment, the much-anticipated character transfers are still in the works, which have already been delayed several times.

Have you already encountered the exploit in the wild? Do you prefer to wait until it is fixed, or do you continue to plunge into the faction war undeterred?
