The until last best Overwatch professional Jay “Sinatraa” Won leaves his team to become a VALORANT athlete. The initial meme gradually becomes reality.

Last night, on 28.04., Team San Francisco Shock announced that Sinatraa is leaving. The team has won the Overwatch League in 2019, Sinatraa became MVP of the event.

The announcement came as little surprise to fans of the player, as he had already announced major changes in his stream and hoped for support from his fanbase.

Overwatch no longer interesting?
In a twitlonger the former Overwatch star explains why he made the decision to leave the game behind. One of the main reasons for him is the 2-2-2 system introduced by Blizzard.

The system is based on the fact that the Esportlers in each map must occupy exactly 2 heroes from each role. By doing so, the developer wanted to shake up the meta in the competitive area. For Sinatraa, however, these restrictions were the main reason why he was no longer interested in the game.

The Overwatch League surprised with its launch with a large franchise model and star rates, which according to ESPN cost participants up to 60 million. All the more the OW scene is now hit all the harder by the departure of the absolute superstar.

The future in VALORANT
Sinatraa is now part of the Sentinels organization already known from Fortnite. There he will play together with players like ex-CS:GO pros Shahzeeb “ShahZaM” Khan and Hunter “SicK” Mims.

Also on the team is former Apex Legends player Jared “zombs” Gitlin, who already played for Sentinels in the Battle Royale title. What exactly the competitive future of VALORANT looks like is not yet clear.

With the new Ranked Mode, the pros can definitely warm up. At the latest when the game officially launches in summer, the first major tournaments will probably be announced. An exact release date is not yet known.
