In Octopath Traveler we play not just one but eight heroes and heroines, who all have their own story to tell. The stories don’t converge into one strand at some point, but intersect from time to time and address rather smaller problems.
On our way through the breathtaking game world, we have to face enemies and monsters again and again, which we reduce to small pieces by means of a turn-based combat system. Each of our heroes has their own advantages and disadvantages as well as talents that make fighting a complex and strategic affair.
The oldschool JRPG was originally released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, with a PC version coming in 2019.
