LoL developer Riot Games presents the new champion Akshan. The rebellious guardian is expected to join the Summoner’s Rift in the near future.

With Akshan, the ever-growing list of LoL Champions
an interesting addition. His focus is mainly on damage, while a grappling hook gives him a lot of mobility. Furthermore, Akshan can mark enemies as “rogues”. If one of them then kills allies of Akshan, but he in turn takes out the rogue, the fallen allies are revived directly.

Disputed Abilities?

Akshan’s released attacks are already causing some unrest among League of Legends fans. Especially his W skill “Going Rogue”, which can revive allies, is already under criticism. Fans of the MOBA title are worried that the new champ will become extremely OP and can decide games single-handedly. Even on the professional level, players like Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng contribute their concerns that Akshan might have too much of an impact on the game.

In the tweet, the North American talks about “crazy situations” that Akshan will trigger on a competitive level. “Imagine trading two kills for two kills and then he gets a lasthit – all of a sudden it’s a five on three and his team gets Baron, Elder, Soul and can attack the Nexus etc,” Doublelift said in the post.

Many fans and players among the League of Legends tweetsagree with the pro’s concerns.

Release is just around the corner

Riot Games last mentioned Akshan alreadyin the event “Rise of the Guardians“. Through this it was very quickly clear that the championdas line-up of the guardians Senna and Lucian would expand. His backstory is thus connected to theirs and Viego’s, while he is also expected to play a role in the upcoming Guardian event.

Players who would prefer to try out Akshan right away won’t have to wait much longer. The champion is scheduled for Patch11.15, so he will be playable on July 21. In addition to the release, Akshan can directly look forward to anew skin of the Cyberpop series.
