The RLCS is back, kicking off the Spring Split with the first NA Regional. Complexity Gaming snatches the crown in the process.
Just under a month after the exciting Winter Split Major in San Diego, the RLCS returned this past weekend with the first Regional of Spring in North America.
Rocket League fans were treated to a few surprises, resisted teams, and a new winner. Complexity Gaming was able to confirm its recent strong form and literally take the win.
Rocket League: The first regional of the Spring Split
The beginning of spring is also the start of the hot phase of the Rocket League calendar. The Spring Split is the last chance for teams to improve their ranking and still get one of the coveted spots for the World Championships in Düsseldorf in August.
The season so far in the American region is clearly in favor of Gen.G Mobil1 Racing, FaZe Clan and Complexity Gaming, who have collected by far the most points so far and can only be ousted from the decisive places in the event of an extreme collapse.

In the first round there was only one surprise when G2 Esports lost against SUP with 3:2 and had to go to the lower bracket. They were followed in Round 2 by FaZe, who lost out to Spacestation Gaming, and after another loss to G2, finished the first regional in a disappointing 9th-12th place.
Gen.G and Complexity, meanwhile, advanced to the Upper Bracket finals in commanding fashion, where Complexity prevailed 4-3 in a high-scoring match. Gen.G then ended OpTic Gaming’s run and hoped for revenge against Complexity in the grand final.
In the best-of-7 series, the score was 2-1 in favor of Gen.G, but in the end Complexity prevailed 4-2 and celebrated its first RLCS victory since the team moved from South to North America in the summer of 2021.
They thus confirmed the good form with which they had advanced to the semifinals at the Winter Major, but are still just behind FaZe and Gen.G in the overall rankings.

But behind them, things are already tighter. With regard to the World Championship, Spacestation Gaming and Version1 have minimal chances to push G2 out of the last qualifying place. For the final Spring-Major, however, everything is still open.
So it will remain exciting in the coming weeks.
