Rocket League pro Eli publishes a screenshot with insults. Now game developer Psyonix is investigating the case.

Accusations against Australian gamers: On Monday, a Discord conversation was published via Twitter in which two Rocket League pros made racist and homophobic remarks about a fellow gamer. The screenshot is from 2019, currently all three pros are playing in the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) in Oceania.

The screenshot shows William “Requiem” Hutchinson insulting his counterpart Eli “eli” C. with racist remarks and even threatening him with murder. Alex “Decka” Tsoutsouras is also part of the conversation and makes homophobic comments towards Eli “eli” C.

Game developer Psyonix is already busy investigating the case. Under the chat published on Twitter, a responsible person from Psyonix commented that they would investigate the incident. It is unclear what consequences will be invoked, as these conversations took place outside of the game.

It is also possible that the tournament organiser of the Rocket League Championship Series will take action, as the insults could have been made after a game of the RLCS. In the past, the organiser had already imposed suspensions of six months and one year on players for similar offences. For the two Rocket League pros, their behaviour could therefore also have consequences. It remains unclear why Eli is only now going public with the screenshot
